We take a look at some of the top Freshman (2024) from the 11/1/2020 NorCal Best Coast Showcase #2.
5-7, 145 ATH Demi Kalmon (Freedom) 9
Demi was a standout player at the Best Coast Showcase and we look forward to seeing the film he can put together over the next few years to confirm what we saw in person. As a Freshman competing against upper classmen he was competitive and didn't show an ounce of fear.
5-11, 230 DT Jordan Palega (Clayton Valley Charter) 9
Excellent strength, quickness and technique for the younger Palega brother. He looks at home against Varsity competition already and will fit perfectly into the Clayton Valley Charter system. Good size already coming into high school.
Like his brother, this young kid looks like a stud in the making. At just 14 years old he has shown the ability to evade the pass rush, remain poised, and deliver the ball downfield with adept touch. Keep an eye on the younger Ingrassia in the years to come.
5-6, 145 WR Elijah Washington (Castlemont) 9
Versatile playmaker who can play in a multitude of spots on the football including RB, WR, DB, Return. Good speed in the open field and excellent jukes, Washington will be a name to lookout for over the next few years in the OAL.
5-11, 160 WR Dalton Cooper (Clayton Valley Charter) 9
Cooper comes into HS at almost 6-0 tall with good hands and good route running. Caught the ball extremely well all day, Dalton can also play some DB and return, versatile player.
5-7, 150 RB Colby Koach (Vacaville HS) - 9
Good young athlete who showed off good footwork in the RB drills. Can catch the ball well out of the backfield, Koach could be a star in the making over the next few years as he grows into his frame.
Magee is tough as nails as we have watched him compete at our last two showcases. Magee can play either WR or DB and will grow into his own with increased strength and speed work. He loves to compete.
Higgins is a tough interior lineman who has not shyed away from competing against elite competition at the Best Coast Showcase. Has a love for the game and could end up being a quality starting lineman in the Winters program coming up.
5-6, 140 LB Ayden Nguyen (California HS) 9
Developing young defensive player who looked good in individual linebacker drills. Nguyen will only continue to develop as a player as he works his way through the Cal HS system. Football family, older brother plays LB for De La Salle.
