Another kid jumping up the ranks is 1st team all league Safety Braelen Bettles (6-2 180 Jr.) of Clackamas. The EForce standout has continued to increase his stock over the last year, ranking as one of Oregon’s top 50 players (#41) for the 2018 class.

Bettles had a monster year in 2016, making 51 total tackles with 4 pass deflections and an INT. Even more impressive was his closing speed and ability to come up and smack opponents. Braelen has quickly become known as one of the states top hitters.

Watch his film and you see a kid that plays with no fear. It is this demeanor that compliments his overall athleticism and size, which so many colleges require this day and age. Speaking on his game EForce owner and coach Ryan Depalo says, ” The biggest improvement and change I have seen with Braelen comes with his confidence”. Adding, “He now consistently understands what to do and does it.”

Offensively Bettles went for over 600 all purpose yards and 4 TDs last season, and will most likely play an even bigger role in 2017, although he projects on D. His 3.8 GPA opens up a host of different options as this upcoming Spring and Summer will be crucial for Braelen’s recruitment. He currently sits on the D1aa bubble and has a lot riding on his play covering the next few months.

Bettles is in a good situation with Clackamas football also becoming a traditional Northwest power. With continued progression you can expect the kid out of Clack to be one of the region’s most talked about athletes. We will keep you updated as the off season continues.
