Get used to the name Jailen Hammer (6-0 180 ATH/S 19′). The Sophomore to be from Sprague HS is one of the top players in Oregon for the 2019 class. He represented this off season as part of the EForce Select Freshman All Star team, after accounting for close to 30 total TD’s (Receiving, Passing) during the Olympians regular season.
Hammer has the potential of being a GVC Player of the Year Candidate in 2016, something very rare for an athlete still so young. Sprague looks to be the fastest rising program in the conference, with the likes of Hammer and 2018 standouts Teagan Quitoriano (6-6 225 TE/DE) and Alek Altringer leading.
Speaking on his group and the upcoming season Jailen says, “We have a small but strong offensive line and an impressive cast of quick and talented skill guys”. Adding, “We are hopeful to make a deep playoff run this year.”
Hammer had a breakout performance at the 7v7 IMG qualifier in Seattle, making some unreal one handed grabs, and going for multiple TD’s. His ability to go up and get the football is unique. Put in the right situation this year Jailen could be a difference maker for what should be a good Olympian football team.
Expect to see Hammer getting it done in both football and basketball. He will be a featured athlete on the 7v7 circuit these next couple years, saying “EForce helped me this past season, putting me in situations where I had to be poised and ready to compete.” We will keep you updated on the talented youngster as the season draws near.
