If the Franklin Quakers play up to there potential they will have a shot at a PIL title. An elite group of skill kids will return along with one of Oregon’s top incoming Junior D Lineman in CJ Davis 6-2 265 18′.

1st team all league RB Ahmir McGee 5-11 180 18′ is back after going for 1,397 All purpose yards and 15 TDs in 2015. McGee has the potential of being the state’s top RB for his class. He is also an outstanding basketball player and overall kid.

Referencing his team and their expectations moving forward McGee says, “I want to be a leader and someone my teammates can look up to, as we want to win the PIL and make a run in the playoffs”. Adding, “This off season has helped me a lot with EForce as I have been traveling and playing against some of the top kids in the country.”

Nate Fields 6-2 190 17′, Tyree ONeil 6-0 190 DB 17′, and Derrick Temple 6-5 210 TE give the Quakers an impressive trio of Seniors that can score. Fields will need to have a big year on both sides of the ball, if Franklin wants to win games against the likes of Lincoln and a much improved Madison team. He caught 54 balls for 620 yards and 9 total TDs last season. Speaking on 2016 Fields says, “I personally want to help lead my team and make sure we are preparing the way we need to.”

O’Neil and Temple each earned 2nd team all conference honors in 2015 and will return as two of the top players in the league.

6-3 210 pound Marcus Cunningham had an outstanding Sophomore campaign, earning 1st team all conference honors from his LB position. Cunningham picked off multiple passes and took them to the house against opponents. Its possible that you may see him playing QB as he is an impressive overall athlete with size.

It’s hard to put a gauge on Franklin as it hasn’t been a traditional football power. Over the off season multiple kids impressed as part of the EForce Oregon Upper an Underclassmen Teams.

The biggest question will come up front as the perimeter looks nice. Tun Way and Gabe Fields are other athletes that should get in the mix. Xavier Pereza 6-3 250 T 17′ will be legit. If they can find additional kids to contribute on the O line they will be alright.

As always with the PIL, the teams who remain disciplined are going to win. We will keep you updated on what looks to be a very talented Quaker squad.
