One of state’s top safeties returning next season is Austin Hill (6-1 195 18′) of Central Catholic. Much like his cousin, current Princeton TE/WR Lawrence Wilson, Hill projects as a potential Ivy league athlete that could thrive at the next level.

Austin has started for Rams the last two seasons. His 4.01 cumulative GPA and overall leadership ability are a few of the reasons he is ranked one of Oregon’s top 50 players for the 2018 class. As a Sophomore he earned defensive MVP honors in Las Vegas, as part of the EForce 7v7 underclassmen group.

Speaking on next year Hill says, “The ultimate goal is to of course win a state championship, with the end of last season putting a sour taste in our mouth”. Adding, “We want to get back to that final game and finish the job.” The Rams got blasted in last years state title game and are eager to back on the field as they will once again be a 6A contender.

CC has a special 2018 and 2020 class returning with double digit D1 projected athletes. Austin continued, “There is a lot of talent coming back, so its about finding that gel and coming together like we did last year during our late season run.”

Many remember his cousin Wilson, who caught 58 passes for 1,092 yards, and 13 TDs over the course of his career at Central. He recently added depth at the TE position during the teams Ivy league championship run in 2016. Hill will be taking a trip back east this summer, visiting a few of the schools that he has been in contact with such as Columbia, Princeton, and Harvard.

Austin epitomizes the complete athlete from an academic and athletic standpoint. He is all of 6-1 and can run. In summary the kid can play ball. Expect to hear much more on the standout student-athlete as the season draws near.
