One of the top LB’s in Oregon this season will be NIck Wiley (6-0 220 17′) of Sunset. The 2x 1st team all league backer will be in the running for conference player of the year honors in 2016.

Wiley broke out as a Sophomore and followed that up with a monster Junior campaign, being honored as a Unanimous All Metro selection by the coaches. He doesn’t have prototypical D1 size, but he is Ivy League smart (4.2 GPA) and very instinctual with his reads.

His play on the field the last two years have put him in the conversation among the top backers in the Northwest. Referencing his game, former All State LB and current coach Mike Riley says, “He is just very coachable, consistently making calls and adjustments for the defense.”

Nick will be called upon to lead this upcoming season, with the Apollos being a projected 3rd or 4th place team in the Metro. Head Coach Damien Merrick has done a good job with the likes of Hall of fame Coach Faustin Riley still very influential.

With the camp circuit right around the corner Wiley is a kid that could potentially see his stock jump with a couple good performances. His grades put him in an elite category of athlete, if we are referencing high end academic universities that can play ball.

Nick is a leader on and off the field and an individual that makes everyone else better. Be on the lookout in 2016 as the kid is legit.
