One of Oregon’s statistical leaders in 2015 was Jonny Neville (6-5 215 17′ TE/WR) of Wilsonville. Most are familiar with the talented wide out as he is the twin brother of 4* Washington St QB commit Connor Neville.
Together the two have torched opponents for the better part of two years, as the Wildcats will most likely project as the #1 team in the state at the 5A level.
Jonny hauled in 813 receiving yards and 13 TDs, averaging 18.1 yards per catch last season. Speaking on his brother and their relationship he says, ” We are in this together as a team… Any exposure for him is good for me, as we always root for each other when the other is acknowledged.”
Neville has played WR most of his life, but could very well find himself at the TE position in college. His continued growth has made him physically dominant. This combined with his work ethic, makes him a very appealing recruit, with Ivy League Cornell recently offering.
Referencing next years group he says, ” Last year we only had one returning starter on D (Kadan Floyd).. This year we have 9 starters returning with experience.”
Jonny teamed with Harrison Steiger and Justin Altenhofen to form maybe the most dangerous trio of WR’s in the state last year. Altenhofen has since transferred to potential 6A #1 West Linn, likely increasing receptions for all.
Head Coach Adam Guenther has one of the top winning %’s in the state. That said as this should be the year the Wildcats get their state title. The pressure will be on to win as they are loaded on both sides of the football.
In closing the hard working and very humble Neville says, “My mom & dad have given up a lot to help us achieve our goals and work towards our dreams .. No matter what we do they will always be there supporting us and we are forever grateful.”
