2018 QB Jake Dukart (Lake Oswego), Arizona State Baseball Commit

If we are referencing the top overall athletes in the Western Region for the 2018 class, Jake Dukart (6-2 175 QB) of Lake Oswego is one of the first names that comes to mind.
The Sophomore standout committed to Arizona St earlier in the year, one of the nations top baseball schools. He is considered one of the elite players in America for his class, and will be a candidate for state player of the year honors and a host of different awards moving forward.
Dukart adds to his arsenal on the football field as he is potentially Oregon’s top quarterback for the class as well. Jake split time this past season with talented three year starter Mitch Verburg who is graduating. He earned Varsity letters in both sports as a freshman, and was an all conference kid in baseball.
He comes from a very talented family with his father Derek spending time in the Yankees organization, after earning 1st team All Big 8 accolades at Nebraska.
Speaking on his commitment to ASU Jake says, “It has been a dream school of mine since I began playing baseball, and it was love at first sight”. Adding, “The coaches were awesome and it was the perfect fit both athletically & academically.”
As good as he is on the diamond, the kids a player on the football field. LO is a traditional state power, and has what looks to be state championship caliber classes coming up. The 2018, 2019 & 2020 groups are legit and then some.
Jake will lead our Oregon Underclassmen team next month in Las Vegas, at the Pylon Sports National 7v7 tourney. What separates Dukart is his unquestioned drive. He could easily rest on his God given ability but does the exact opposite. Most recently showing up at a tryout for the 7v7 team by himself, without anyone knowing (including family) he was doing so. He killed it at the workout and the rest is history.
Everyone is excited to watch the young gunslinger as his future is incredibly bright. We will keep you updated as the off season progresses.
